PMI U.S. is on a mission to improve public health in the United States
This starts with providing better options to America’s 45 million adult nicotine consumers—30 million of whom smoke cigarettes.
PMI has never sold cigarettes in the U.S. and is actively delivering a smoke-free future globally. Our goal is to empower legal-age nicotine consumers to change for the better. In this way, we will accelerate an end to smoking, the most harmful way to consume nicotine. In the U.S., this effort is led by several PMI affiliates, including Swedish Match North America, the maker of ZYN.
Empowering Americans who smoke and want to change starts with understanding their journ ey. That’s why we’ve committed billions to improving public health with better smoke-free alternatives designed for consumers 21 and older.”
PMI U.S. CEO
People who smoke have different preferences. On our mission to improve public health, we understand we must meet people where they are. That’s why PMI U.S. offers a choice of satisfying smoke-free options to help adults 21+ make the switch from cigarettes and other traditional tobacco products.
“I think that the more alternatives that there are, the better support you’re giving smokers to be able to find something that may satisfy them to help them in their journey.” — Deb, who helped her friend switch to smoke-free
ZYN is an oral nicotine pouch that’s placed between the gum and cheek. At the start of 2025, ZYN was the first nicotine pouch to be authorized through a “premarket tobacco product application,” meaning the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found ZYN appropriate for the protection of public health.
